Independent fashion retailer, Jules B is thrilled to announce the opening of its new designer womenswear store in the centre of Harrogate. This beautiful two-storey retail space introduces a carefully curated range of luxury fashion to discerning local customers.
Husband-and-wife directors, Julian and Rhona Blades, tell us: “Our new Harrogate store makes a fantastic addition to the town’s vibrant retail scene and we’ve been delighted with the reception it’s received so far. We’re offering something new and exciting to locals and visitors, with a handpicked selection of products available from top designer names and emerging brands. Customers can shop for high-quality staple pieces like denim and knitwear alongside elegant evening dresses, luxury bags and everything in-between.”
Jules B was founded in 1984, when Rhona was a lecturer in Fashion Design at Northumbria University and Julian was a freelance fashion agent. Just three months into their relationship, they went into business together, opening their first womenswear store in Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne. The business took off almost immediately and a Jesmond menswear store soon followed.
In the 38 years since its beginning, this family-run company has grown into a multi-channel retail operation, with five boutique shops across Newcastle, Kendal and Harrogate and a successful online store stocking over 180 brands for men and women. Jules B are three-time winners of Drapers Best Independent Fashion Retailer in Britain award, and in 2020, Julian and Rhona also won the Drapers Lifetime Achievement Award. A store in Harrogate was a natural next step for the business, in fact, it’s something that’s been on the cards for over 30 years.
“We’ve wanted to open a store here for a long time, but it was important to us that the physical space would bring the Jules B brand to life,” Julian says. “When the old Jaeger unit became available, we knew the time was right, it’s an excellent location, and we have over 3,200 square feet to showcase the latest womenswear collections from our unique range of designer brands.”
Jules B’s modern edit of designers includes Holland Cooper, Hayley Menzies, Wild and Zadig & Voltaire. In Harrogate, these sit alongside ‘softer dressing’ labels such as OSKA and NU London, as well as effortless everyday pieces from brands like Barbour, Rag & Bone and ERIBÉ.
Jules B prides itself on its ‘product before brand’ ethos, with each individual piece selected for its style, fit, quality and value for money.
