Have a fun filled day out across nine Leeds Museums & Galleries this summer.

There’s a whole load of special events on offer and lots of free activities to keep the kids busy in the holidays.

On 14 August travel in style for Vintage Bus Day. Hop on and off classic buses travelling between the city centre, Leeds Industrial Museum, Abbey House Museum, Kirkstall Abbey and Thwaite Watermill. Meanwhile Lotherton are going green for Sustainable Summer with eco-friendly crafts and activities for the whole family. Bring a picnic blanket and enjoy a full day out with two adventure playgrounds, beautiful gardens and amazing animals at Wildlife World. Temple Newsam are also celebrating with traditional tales and rhymes. Enjoy storytelling and Wednesday workshops with everything from print making to clay crafting and willow weaving.

If you’re taking a trip into the city then stop off at Leeds City Museum for events inspired by Marvellous Machines. There’s a family trail, Lego and coding workshops, sensory storytelling and a theatre workshop from Alive & Kicking Theatre Company. Over the road at Leeds Art Gallery, have fun with family crafts in Artspace and join in with their Artist in Residence events on selected dates throughout August.

Did you know that a short hop down the river you can also visit Leeds Discovery Centre, a museum store, home to over one million objects?! Drop-in between 10am-12pm on Wednesdays to explore the collections with specialist curators including a tour into the depths of the store!

With wildlife trails at Kirkstall Abbey and Thwaite Watermill, plus fairy tale themed fun at Abbey House Museum, there’s a packed out programme for the whole family to take part in this Summer.
